One Direction star Zayn Malik's bag stolen by two fans, posted photos of the contents online via Twitter; others reply hashtag #ZaynDeservesPrivacy

One Direction hunk Zayn Malik had recently become a victim of extreme fandom after he lost his bag in an airport in Peru only to find out that it was stolen by his fans.

Metro reported that while the singer was passing through the airport, one of his bags mysteriously went missing. Its location had not been determined for a while, up until the fans in possession of his things revealed themselves.

The fans posted a video of them rifling through Malik's belongings. They even posted a photo of some of the contents of the singer's bag.

However, the posts hit a backlash from other One Direction fans who were angered by the actions of their fellow supporters. They showed their support to Malik by tweeting with the hashtag "#ZaynDeservesPrivacy." According to Metro, Malik is known for being very private about his life and fans regarded the action as disrespectful towards the singer.

Meanwhile, the two Peruvian girls, who were the culprits of the act, claimed that they failed to give the back bag because they realize it too late that it was Malik's bag. They allegedly could no longer return it because the team of Malik was already gone.

Billboard reported that a South American fansite spoke with the girls and stated their claims: "They saw Lou Teasdale (the boys' hair stylist) with some bags [at a Peru airport]. When she came out lots of people approached her - including bodyguards. One of them or Lou - I don't remember - had that bag with them but dropped it in front of these girls. They took it and they said they tried to give it back but everyone was gone."

This, however, was not received well by One Directioners. They cited that there is airport security everywhere and the fact that it has taken the fans until now to come forward.

Malik has not given any comments on the issue.
