Rumors that Selena Gomez and Austin Mahone are dating have once again resurfaced following Justin Bieber's ear surgery.
According to KpopStars, this latest health scare of Bieber had been an opportunity for Mahone, 18, and Gomez, 22, to rekindle their romance which supposedly started early this year.
However, it appears that these rumors remain as such as Mahone recently posted a photo of himself with 17-year-old Acadamy Award nominee, Hailee Steinfield.
Reports of the alleged couple's dating have begun last January after they were introduced by singer Taylor Swift. The two had since been reportedly spending time with each other.
However, the site reported, the "Come and Get It" singer have left Mahone in vain last April after she unfollowed him on Instagram.
"I was sad when she wasn't following me, I shed one single tear!" said Mahone to Hollywood Life as per report by KpopStars.
Mahone had also shunned rumors and told People that he and Gomez remain cordial in their relationship. "We're just friends. She's really cool. I mean, I think she's really pretty but every time I'm in L.A., she's like 'Hey you're in L.A., lets hang out," shared Mahone.
This will be good news for Bieber who has revived his on-off relationship with Gomez. Although the two have been quiet about it, reports are spreading that the two have indeed reunited.
According to Hollywood Life, the couple is more serious and committed in their present relationship. They are even collaborating on a song, but sources reveal that Bieber is hesitant to release the song.
"They are working on songs together but there is no timetable to release anything soon. They want it to be perfect, which is making things a little difficult because they only have one chance to release a song together for the first time," spilled a source to the site.
The source added, "Justin also considers it to be a big step in their relationship if he releases a song with her. So he is not really ready to show that commitment."
