Former NFL player Michael Strahan and reality TV star Nichole Murphy had broken up after a conscientious negotiation over a pre-nuptial agreement.
According to Page Six, a source revealed that Murphy was not willing to sign a pre-nuptial agreement despite the generous deeds that Strahan did for her.
Strahan was actively supportive of her when she sued Troy David Stratos in 2010 after he allegedly pursued Murphy to invest her money overseas.
"She gave Stratos all the money from her divorce with Eddie Murphy. Michael helped her out financially, but she still wouldn't sign a prenup," the insider added.
Strahan and Murphy started dating in 2007. They got engaged two years after. Their engagement lasted for five years before finally calling it quits last Friday.
According to TMZ, Murphy announced the split right before the football star's induction into the NFL Hall of Fame.
A source also spilled that Strahan's friends believe that either Murphy or somebody else is trying to sabotage Strahan's induction.
This was also supported by other insiders who revealed to the site that the two have broken up for several weeks already and that their relationship was on-and-off for almost two years ever since Strahan started hosting "LIVE! With Kelly and Michael."
However, the reality star insisted that it was a mere coincidence and was not out of revenge. A source told the site that Murphy had been investigating on Strahan's alleged infidelity and was able to get confirmation on Friday, the day when she announced the break up news.
Both Strahan and Murphy has not given any comments on the issues regarding their separation.
Strahan's representative, however, gave a statement after the announcement of Murphy.
"They love each other very much, but with the distance and work schedule, it has been hard to maintain the relationship," said the representative of the football player.
