Michael Fassbender still in 'Assassin's Creed' Movie, 'Exodus: Gods And Kings' writers tapped to provide script for film

If you are a fan of video games, then there is no doubt that you are familiar with the "Assassins Creed" franchise. Since it's release back in 2007 for computers, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, the video games has been a popular choice for its detailed storyline and its hard parkour action. The cinematic quality of the video game franchise has fans clamoring for a film adaptation of the game.

According to multiple reports, the movie adaptation of "Assassin's Creed" would be coming in cinemas on August next year. MoviePilot reports that the film will still star Michael Fassbender, who has starred "X-Men: Days of Future Past" as the formidable Magneto, despite recent reports of him dropping out out the project due to disagreements over the new film treatment of the project. Fassbender was also noted to be proud of the film production, and expressed his amazement about the video game franchise.

Meanwhile, it has been believed that the film will be written by the same script writers who worked on the Christian Bale-starrer "Exodus: Gods and Kings," Bill Collage and Adam Cooper, KPopstarz reported. Although rumors have mentioned Justin Kurzel as the film's potential director, there is no official word yet on who has been tapped to direct the movie adaptation of the video game franchise.

As fans would have to wait with bated breath for the release of the movie, musician and horror aficionado Ro Zombie has teamed up with "Assassin's Creed" producer Ubisoft to release an animated short about the video game's latest "Unity" installment, Variety reported, The short film has Zombie's signature elements, tapping "The Walking Dead" illustrator and co-creator Tony Moore to help bring to life the horrors of the French Revolution. "Assassin's Creed: Unity" is expected to invade stores on October 8.
