An English man who pretended to be a paramedic to lure women he met on Tinder into trusting him was sentenced to more than a decade in prison for sexual assault and rape.
Jamie Kadolski, of Norwich, worked as a call handler for the East of England Ambulance Service, but told women he met on Tinder that he was a paramedic, a lie that made them feel safe and open to a serious relationship, a judge told the court this week.
Instead, the 25-year-old defendant sexually assaulted and raped at least three women between August 2022 and September 2023. He was found not guilty of charges raised by a fourth woman, per the BBC.
One of the victims wrote in an impact statement that they had "vivid flashbacks" and nightmares "almost every night" of Kadolski breaking into their house and raping them. Another revealed she tried to take her life after becoming a "shadow of who [she] once was." The third victim "to this day" blames herself for the assault.
Kadolski was found guilty of three counts of rape and six counts of sexual offense. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison with a three-year extended sentence because he was deemed a risk as a "dangerous offender" who posed a "high threat to women," per the judge.
