The friends of Marcus Freiberger, a popular yoga instructor who was found dead in a quarry in Phoenix earlier this month, have revealed details about his final weeks, including intimate details about his dating life.
Freiberger went on a blind date on February 21 after connecting with a man on a dating app, his friends told the Daily Mail. He never returned, however, and his friends immediately grew concerned, and they believe he may have been murdered.
"I don't know exactly what to think," Gina Zucchet, a 20-year friend of Freiberger's told the Mail. "But obviously something really bad happened and we want answers."
The 45-year-old yoga instructor's friends and family knew the situation was dire after his phone died, he failed to show up for work, he didn't contact his mother and he left his dog alone. Then, on March 19, his body was found in a quarry while his car remained missing.
While his cause of death has yet to be revealed, a homicide detective was assigned to Freiberger's case, according to the outlet. Police have reportedly identified who he met up with the day he went missing, but have yet to report any potential suspects.
Freiberger's friends are optimistic justice will be served.
"I really hope that the cops will figure out what happened to him, and then the right thing will be done," Zucchet told the outlet. "He was so loved and he did so much for so many people."
