A Minnesota pastor's wife allegedly had her lover and two other men murder her husband in Angola.
Jackie Shroyer, 44, was reportedly having an affair with one of the couple's bodyguards. The woman is accused of having the bodyguard, Bernadino Elias, 24, and two other men kill her husband, 44-year-old Beau Shroyer, The Daily Mail reported.
According to the newspaper, Beau Shroyer was lured into a remote area and stabbed to death. Jackie was arrested two days later and is accused of paying the men $50,000. One of the accused killers is still on the loose.
The Shroyers and their five children moved to Angola as part of a mission trip in 2021, The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported. The mission trip was part of SIM USA, a cross-cultural Christian mission organization.
"The global SIM community is heartbroken over the death of our friend and colleague Beau Shroyer, who was killed in a violent criminal attack in Angola on Friday, October 25. We are shocked and devastated to learn that his wife, Jackie Shroyer, has been arrested in connection with his death," the organization said in a statement.
The Shroyer's belonged to Lakes Area Vineyard Church in Detroit Lakes before embarking on their mission work. The church's pastor, Troy Easton, told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that the situation "saddens me immensely," adding that Jackie Shroyer will remain in custody and be tried before a judge, probably sometime in the next six months.
Eaton told the newspaper that the Shroyer's children are being taken care of by other family members and support from SIM USA and the church.
Before becoming a pastor and a missionary, Beau worked as a real estate agent and a police officer. "Beau's passing has left an unimaginable void in the hearts of his family and friends to whom he was a source of inspiration and support," a GoFundMe page created by Beau's sister, Marina Roering, states.
