A Florida Wingstop manager allegedly threw hot grease and ranch dressing at a group of underage customers during a heated argument inside the establishment.
The incident took place at a Wingstop in Port St. Lucie on January 28, when a group of teenagers entered the restaurant around 11 p.m. and reportedly became disruptive, according to Fox News.
The manager, Carnael Irene, 19, reportedly grew frustrated after the teens made comments about her financial status. Surveillance footage captured the altercation, though there was no audio available.
As tensions escalated, Irene allegedly squirted ranch dressing at two female customers, prompting them to throw a straw container in response. A male customer then approached Irene before she walked into the kitchen, grabbed a container of hot grease, and tossed it over the counter.
While Irene claimed the oil did not hit anyone, police stated that one of the victims had burns on her arms and legs consistent with oil burns. Irene later admitted to throwing both the grease and ranch at the customers.
Irene was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse and aggravated battery. Authorities have not disclosed whether she remains employed at Wingstop, and the company has yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.
If convicted, Irene could face significant prison time given the severity of the charges, particularly the child abuse charge.
