A Salisbury man, who was arrested in 2016 for bringing a loaded AR-15 into a Washington D.C. pizzeria in an attempt to investigate an internet conspiracy theory relating to former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, died after being shot by Kannapolis law enforcement officers on Monday.

Edgar Maddison Welch succumbed to his injuries after being shot by police officers during a traffic stop after Welch allegedly pointed a handgun at one of the officers, reported WCNC.
