A Texas cop who allegedly raped an intoxicated woman is facing charges after identifying himself as a police officer and offering to escort her home from a bar, according to a report.

The alleged assault happened around 1 a.m. Nov. 28 after the victim said she had gotten into an argument with her friend and decided to walk herself home from the bar after having a couple of drinks, according to an affidavit obtained by FOX 4.

The woman said she decided to take a break from walking and sit on the curb after stumbling a lot, which is when she was allegedly approached by the cop, who she said identified himself as "Officer Charles," as reported by CBS Texas.

The victim said she "felt safe" to trust him, and accepted his offer to walk her home, according to the affidavit obtained by CBS Texas. After asking for a glass of water, the woman reportedly let the officer, later identified as Filemon Perez, into her home where he allegedly raped her.

The woman said the assault stopped after the officer "heard his radio" and said he had to answer the call, the affidavit stated. After he left, the victim reportedly called 911 and reported the assault just before 2 a.m., according to an affidavit obtained by the Dallas Morning News.

Perez was initially placed on paid administrative leave during the investigation, however the Lewisville Police Department said he resigned after he was alerted that he would be fired. Warrants were issued for his arrest Dec. 4, and Perez turned himself in Dec. 9.

The former officer was charged with sexual assault and official oppression. He was released from Denton County Jail after posting his $155,000 bond.
