Even after the finale of "Dancing With the Stars'" season 18, people are still all abuzz about the insane chemistry of ballroom professional Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Olympic gold medalist Meryl Davis. When asked by Social Life Magazine about the real deal between him and dance floor partner, who bagged the trophy in the reality dance show, DWTS pro Chmerkovskiy said that it is simply a "showmance."
"Do you know what a showmance is? It's like being in a summer camp when you're a teenager," explained Chmerkovskiy. "When you spend three months closely with someone at a particular place, it is like a summer love. You have no choice but to get involved with that person."
The Ukrainian-born choreographer added that he is extremely close with all of his DWTS partners and not with Davis alone, as all of them have played an enormous role in his life.
In a TV appearance on "The Wendy Williams Show," the Olympic figure skater also directly denied that she is dating her DWTS partner. When pressed with more questions about their alleged romance, Davis said that she would want to keep her private life private.
After the short TV exposure hiatus of DWTS season 18 champions, Meryl and Maks are reported to reunite after Disson Skating announced their planned dance-themed show, to be headlined by Davis and professional figure skating partner Charlie White, with Chmerkovskiy as a special guest, happening this December.
Meanwhile, rumors about Maksim Chmerkovskiy's dating life seem endless, as he is also linked with former "American Idol" judge Jennifer Lopez.
However, in an interview with Access Hollywood, Maks instantly denied the rumors simply said that he is flattered to be linked with such big names.
Backing up his statement is the former "King of Queen" star Leah Remini, who is a close friend of J.Lo. In her reality show "Leah Remini; It's All Relative," Remini said that the singer-actress and Chmerkovskiy are "not an item."
