A Florida sex offender allegedly set fire to his pregnant girlfriend's house after she confronted him about impregnating another woman at the same time she was expecting a child with him, say police.
Tauarus Devon Lee has been wanted since April, according to Miami-Dade police, WPLG-TV reported.
Lee, a 29-year-old convicted sex offender, was recently arrested on an unrelated charge in Georgia, and extradited back to Florida Thursday to face charges of first-degree arson, tampering with an electronic monitoring device and unlawful use of a communications device, jail records show.
It's unclear if he entered pleas to the charges.
Lee's girlfriend allegedly first became suspicious of him when she noticed several missed incoming phone calls on his cell phone coming from an unknown number. The girlfriend answered the call, and spoke to a woman on the other end of the line, who claimed she was also pregnant and in a relationship with Lee, police said, according to the station.
Lee's girlfriend allegedly confronted him while they were in the car and became so "furious," she ditched him on the side of the road and threw his phone at him. He then purportedly jumped onto her car, prompting her to slam on her brakes, launching him off the vehicle.
Lee later on texted her alleging he wanted to come by her place in Florida City, Florida, to grab his belongings, but she told him to stop contacting her.
"You got me and another b---- pregnant," she purportedly texted Lee.
He claimed the throw from the car broke his hand and he allegedly threatened to "send someone right now to burn (her) house down on God I'm in so much pain," he allegedly wrote. "N they on they way now."
Lee later on begged his girlfriend to bring him his ankle monitor charger because its battery was dying.
Data from the ankle monitor allegedly tied him to the scene of the house fire. The monitor was allegedly recovered in a nearby McDonald's dumpster.
