A gun-wielding man attempted to rob a deli in Philadelphia until the attendant grabbed his gun, which fortunately did not fire, and fought off the suspect.

On Oct. 9, an armed suspect made his third robbery attempt in the area in as many days at the Vine Deli and Grocery in Philadelphia, but this time he was thwarted by a quick-thinking store clerk.

The unidentified suspect demanded money from the attendant, who then grabbed the gun's barrel. The two men then tussled near the store's front door before the suspect fled empty-handed, FOX 29 reported.

Philadelphia police released surveillance video to YouTube on Wednesday in hopes of someone recognizing the armed robber. He allegedly robbed two stores before the deli in West Philadelphia between Oct. 7 and Oct. 8, FOX 29 reported.
