A former Wisconsin middle school music teacher now faces a staggering ninth charge of sexual abuse as another victim comes forward, accusing him of assaulting students "five to ten times per lesson."
John Rash taught music at East Troy Middle School until his resignation in 2022.
In 2023, prosecutors charged him with sexually assaulting eight former students, and now, a ninth victim has come forward, according to FOX6.
Prosecutors first charged John Rash with sexually touching teenage girls during small group lessons, but when the news outlet interviewed the parents of four of the victims, they allege the band teacher brushed his hand over their daughters' breasts or other sensitive parts of their bodies during lessons.
"It's not just us four. Everybody's naïve if they think it's just us four families," said one parent.
"Three to four times per band lesson."
Another parent revealed that it was enough to make their child feel like it was wrong, while a third said their child experienced sexual abuse multiple times throughout their music lessons.
"Five to ten times per lesson," they said.
Four other victims have since come forward, and now a ninth former student of Rash is accusing the disgraced teacher of abuse.
A criminal complaint filed this week states the 33-year-old woman, only known as "Victim X," had Rash as a music teacher nearly 20 years ago in 2005—the same year some of the other victims were born.
The new allegations expand the child sexual assault charges against Rash to span 14 years, from 2005 to 2019.
Rash surrendered his teaching license in 2022 but has yet to face the justice system.
He is free on a $1,000 bond, with his first court appearance for the new charge scheduled for October 21 in Walworth County.
The trial for the eight other charges is set for December.
