Bryan Singer was noticeably absent from the media lately, and even shunned publicity for the sake of his film "X-Men: Days of Future Past" as he battles off a slew of sexual abuse lawsuits filed against him by a former aspiring actor. However, it seemed that Singer is slowly opening up to media for the sake of his next "X-Men" film at least.
The Hollywood director recently created a new Instagram account today without any announcement and shared what appeared to be the first production photo for the highly-anticipated superhero sequel "X-Men: Apocalypse." The photo showed the first page of a script treatment by Singer and co-writers Dan Harris, Simon Kinberg and Michael Dougherty. According to the monologue in the Instagram snap, the first scene of the movie is set at the Nile river, which would be the stage of a battle scene of the Apocalypse's Four Horsemen.
Although Buzzfeed confirmed that Singer has yet to be tapped as the director for the "X-Men: sequel by 20th Century Fox due to the sexual abuse lawsuits filed against him by Michael Egan and an anonymous Briton complainant in April and May, Singer reportedly remains attached with the project as a producer.
Just last week, Singer tweeted a photo of him and Kinberg watching a US match at the World Cup at the latter's laptop, while Dougherty is seen on his own laptop, no doubt following the tournament match as well. The photo came in with the caption that read, "#Xmen #Apocalypse Script session has been officially distracted by final throes of #WorldCup"
On the other hand, Singer has since rejected the allegations against him by the plaintiffs, and his lawyer insisted that the director was on the job at the times both plaintiffs claimed to have been sexually assaulted by him, the Guardian said. Singer has since filed a suit asking the court to dismiss the allegations lodged against him May.
Aside from Singer, Hollywood executives David Neuman, Garth Ancier and Gary Goddard have also been named as the defendants in the lawsuits, the British paper added.
