Truck driver pleads not guilty in Tracy Morgan crash

In his court appearance for the charges filed against him in relation to the multiple-vehicle collision that involved the limousine bus of "30 Rock" star Tracy Morgan. The highway incident has caused Morgan and other critical to minimal injuries, while the actor's mentor and fellow comedian had been killed at the scene.

The New York Daily News observed that the 35 year-old driver was quiet throughout the court proceeding. Roper's attorney did much of the talking at court, and said that his client is innocent. Roper's lawyer then entered a not guilty plea on his client's behalf. Roper has been charged with vehicular homicide and assault by auto against the four survivors of the New Jersey Turnpike crash.

Roper has since proclaimed his innocence on social media, as reports of the "Saturday Night Live" alum getting a leg amputation from the accident forced his publicist to issue a notice that his client is in critical but stable condition.

On one of his apparent Twitter messages, he wrote, "Today we saw why media has turned this country into nothing but a real life REALITY SHOW. Do they all come to my court date if a certain "FAMOUS PERSON" wasn't involved? Did the media show up for all the other ACCIDENTS this year that a driver was charged with a crime?"

There were a total of five tweets regarding his innocence in the charges that were published on Roper's alleged account.

Judge Bradley Ferencz reportedly continued Roper's bail, noting that the truck driver had a clean record prior to the accident on Saturday.

Roper continued his silence upon arrival and exit from the New Brunswick, New Jersey courthouse. Roper, who was wearing a white dress shirt, dark slacks and brown shoes, had kept his head bowed as he walked to and from a black Suburban SUV, Daily News said. Roper and his attorney ignored all sorts of questions asked by reporters present outside the courthouse, of which majority of them were the authenticity of the Twitter account where the driver supposedly claimed he was used as a scapegoat for the crash.
