A group of California high school students from the northeast of San Francisco has been accused of secretly taking naked photos, and recording a nude video of one of the school's top administrators in an off-campus locker room facility. Some of the students are suspended.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department reported that still photos from the nude video was posted on Snapchat. The images were then quickly spread around among other students at Clayton Valley Charter High School in Concord, California.
The department contacted a 17-year-old suspect for an alleged involvement in the February 20 incident, whose name is not revealed. The suspect was later arrested for invasion of privacy.
The video reportedly showed a Clayton High School administrator who was in a locker room facility of a private club when the nude video was taken. The student was cited for an anti-"peeping Tom" statute, California Penal Code 647(j), according to California Legislative Information, and was later released to his parents.
Alison Bacigalupo, the school's Operations Director, released a statement saying the school "takes disciplinary issues seriously" concerning the making of nude video, but they had a policy to "never comment publicly on any specific matter related to our students." She also called on the media to "respect the privacy of our students and to recognize that discipline is always confidential, according to Law Newz.
The school wrote another statement saying, "CVCHS will not tolerate sexting or sharing of nude photos of anybody related to our school: students, parents, staff or administrators." The statement continues, "We shall protect the privacy of all members of our school community. And when a violation has occurred, we will hold violators accountable."
The incident reminds the public of allegation of a similar crime in July 2016, whereby a former Playboy Playmate model took a nude photo of a woman in a locker room and posted it on Snapchat. Model, Dani Mathers, was charged and then pleaded not guilty in November 2016.
