FBI Investigates Three Probes Related To U.S. Presidential Hacking, Alleges Trump And Russia Had Business Ties

Allegations of Russia hacking the U.S. Presidential Election resulted with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) investigating the claims. It was recently reported that the FBI is now investigating at least three separate probes that is related to the Russian hack.

According to five current and former government officials, the FBI's Pittsburgh field office is trying to identify the people behind the breaches of the Democratic National Committee's computer systems. These breaches occurred in 2015 and during the first half of 2016 which exposed the internal communications of party officials. These were used to undermine support for Hilary Clinton in the election hacking, Engadget reported.

Although progress from the Pittsburgh has progressed well, Justice Department officials in Washington believe that the evidence is not enough for clear indictment. The FBI Pittsburgh office should investigate more into the alleged Russian hacking of the U.S. Presidential Election.

On the other hand, FBI's San Francisco office is looking to identify the people who call themselves "Guccifer 2." These people are responsible for posting stolen emails from Hillary Clinton's campaign manager and may be connected to the U.S. Presidential hacking. The emails contained details regarding the fundraising by the Clinton Foundation among other topics.

Meanwhile, FBI counterintelligence agents based in Washington are investigating leads from informants and foreign communication intercepts according to Reuters. The investigations include the examination of financial transactions by Russian individuals and companies who are believed be involved with Trump's associates. This could prove Russia's hacking of the U.S Presidential Election in order to favor Trump's victory.

The White House declined to comment regarding the investigations on the Russian hacking. In relation, Trump has said during the campaign that he thinks Russia is behind the hacking but also mentioned that other countries are also hacking the U.S.

President Trump also denies that he has any business connections with Russia, according to Reuters. Meanwhile, sources from Reuters claim that Americans who has ties with the current president had repeated contacts with Russian intelligence officers before the election which only adds to the mystery of the U.S. election hacking.
