Web-slinging, fan-favorite Marvel superhero Spider-Man is now slated to join the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War." He will officially join the ranks of other heroes like Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Starlord.
During the latest outing of Marvel Cinematic Universe's official Facebook page when it was teasing the behind-the-scenes video teaser of "Avengers: Infinity War," the clip has revealed that Tom Holland's Spider-Man will indeed be joining. The beginning of the video has introduced the film's biggest actors Robert Downey Jr., Chris Pratt and Holland on the set of the movie. This very scene strictly confirms that Starlord and Spidey are added to the star-studded cast.
The speculations of Holland's Spider-Man joining the "Avengers: Infinity War" began last Oct. 2016 when the actor was quipped saying that his character's involvement in the upcoming film was "up in the air". The rumor was further fueled when the actor's interview with Italian Vogue was released, indicating that he may very well be part of the forthcoming Marvel film.
Tom Holland's official participation in "Avengers: Infinity War" shouldn't come as a surprise to Marvel fanatics. The character has been frequenting the "Avengers" saga in comics and has made his debut during 2015's "Captain America: Civil War". Holland's portrayal of Peter Parker has been acclaimed and has since been welcomed by both fans of the film and the comics. As such, the film's decision to introduce Parker as a teenager rather than an adult one has also been praised.
"Avengers: Infinity War" is set to hit the theaters on May 4, 2018. It will also star Josh Brolin, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Mark Ruffalo and Samuel L. Jackson. Meanwhile, Tom Holland's solo Marvel film debut on "Spider- Man: Homecoming" is slated to be released on July 7 this year.
