After the iPhone 7 was sold out in just its first 3 months, the hype and excitement about the iPhone 8 continues to build up. But getting your hands on the iPhone 8 may come at a heavy price. One thing is for sure, Apple is going to release one hell of a phone come September.
Leaks swirling around the Internet place the price tag of the iPhone 8 to well beyond the $1,000 level, higher than the traditional $650 for a flagship phone. According to a report in Yahoo Tech, this is nothing new. The iPhone 7 Plus cost $1,000 with tax. It boasts of the same features that we are likely to see in the iPhone 8 such as a dual-camera. But with the cost topping the $1,000 tag, more is expected from Apple's new flagship handset.
There are arguments that in order to launch a groundbreaking new device, one to has to shell out huge money. As reported in the Digital Review, the iPhone 8 will be packed with features that do not come cheap. The upcoming iPhone will reportedly be curved and will not have no bezel OLED screen. If it is to challenge Samsung in the innovation aspect, raising costs might be the only option.
Reports that appeared in Fast Company stated the reasons why the iPhone 8 will cost more than $1,000. First, Apple will be eliminating the physical Home button which will be hidden underneath the display surface. Rather than pressing, users will now have to touch it. In addition, the iPhone 8 will be made of stainless steel instead of the current aluminum. The back of the phone will be made of glass rather than metal. As mentioned, it will sport a dual-camera.
Alongside the iPhone 8, Apple will also be releasing the 4.7-inch iPhone 7s and the 5.5-inch iPhone 7s Plus. However, with the iPhone 8, the company hopes to deliver the most feature-rich iPhone ever.
