Emma Watson may have finally shed off her Hermione image. The former "Harry Potter" actress is the highlight in the recently released final trailer for the live action reboot to "Sleeping Beauty" due out in March.
The new clip shows Watson as Belle, who saves her father from the titular beast (played by Dan Stevens). She eventually falls in love with him as she spends more time with him. Watson especially shines in the ballroom scene, where she dons a yellow gown as she dances with the beast. The movie also promises to be a musical treat as the trailer also features a new version of the "Beauty and The Beast" themesong from Ariana Grande and John Legend.
Watson, who recently attended the nationwide Women's March in Washington DC a day after US President Trump's inauguration, has also been praised by Paige O'Hara, the voice of Belle in the original animated movie. In an interview with Buzzfeed, O'Hara called Watson "absolutely perfect" in her role.
This Emma Watson news comes a few days after reports spread that Watson was disappointed after she let go of her supposed lead role in the musical film "La La Land." According to NME, Watson and her presumed partner in the movie at her premature casting, Miles Teller, are said to be "raising hell" with their agents as "La La Land" ultimately proved to be a smash in both the box office and with awards season organizations.
Teller is said to have demanded $6 million to commit even as Lionsgate offered $4 million to him. Page Six also reported that Watson's commitment to "Beauty and the Beast" played a big part in her bowing out of "La La Land."
"La La Land" is currently in theaters worldwide. It is one of the front-runners in the Oscars that will be broadcast live from Los Angeles on Sunday, February 26. "Beauty and the Beast," on the other hand, will be released in movie houses on Friday, March 17. The Lawyer Herald will be posting more news and updates on Emma Watson and "Beauty and the Beast" in the coming weeks.
