'Kong Skull Island' Movie Update: What's Revealed So Far Including Godzilla Connection

By

The "Kong Skull Island" movie already has a good chunk of teasers including its connection to Godzilla, here is the summary of what's been revealed so far.

"Kong Skull Island" revealed a batch of TV spot trailers that shows fans what it's like to be in Skull Island. According to Variety, the trailers revealed enough backstory to give the audience an idea of the films epic plot.

The island is inhabited by a plethora of massive creatures which includes giant squids, giant lizards and even ginormous crab spider-like creatures. Although not all inhabitants appear to be hostile since one scene showed a seemingly passive, yet still massively large, buffalo-like creature.

Based on what's revealed so far, the Skull Island expedition looked like an all-out war as the trailer depicts a man versus beast scenario. However, it appears that the mighty King Kong still has a soft side for women.

Previous renditions of Kong always portray the gigantic beast as being very considerate towards women. That portrayal remains true in "Kong Skull Island" as one scene depicts Kong saving the films leading female cast Brie Larson from certain doom. The plot thickens as new information regarding the King Kong and Godzilla connection are surfacing. According to SlashFilm, John Goodman's character plays a vital role in connecting "Kong Skull Island's" plot to the 2014 film "Godzilla."

The source mentions that Goodman's character is working for the shady organization called Monarch. If the name sounds familiar, it's probably because it is the same group that was featured in Gareth Edwards' "Godzilla" movie.

In addition, it's reported that Goodman's character will be "pulling the strings" from behind the scenes. This suggests that leading casts such as Tom Hiddleston and Samuel L. Jackson's characters will have no idea of what Monarch has in store for them.

Fans can expect some subtle nods to the "Godzilla" film. While eagle-eyed fans might spot some "Godzilla" Easter eggs, they shouldn't expect to spot Godzilla himself.

This is due to the fact that "Kong Skull Island" takes place 40 years before the 2014 "Godzilla" film. At this point in time, Godzilla is probably enjoying a deep slumber in preparation for his upcoming film.

"Kong Skull Island" is scheduled to release on March 10 while "Godzilla King of Monsters" arrives two years later.
