While Chinese smartphone mega manufacturer Xiaomi Inc is now en route to introducing its forthcoming flagship Xiaomi Mi 6, a successor to its critically-reviewed Xiaomi Mi 4C has surfaced. The newly leaked images not only indicate that the firm is not killing the roster, but has rather revealed that the follow up is sure to wow its consumers further.
Dubbed as Xiaomi Mi 5S' cheaper sibling, Xiaomi Mi 5C is in no way inexpensive-looking. According to GSMArena, the images showed that the forthcoming device will be sporting a metal back, akin to the former's aesthetics. However, 5C is also seen to be without the 5S' brushed finish.
Xiaomi Mi 5C is expected to come with the power-efficient 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 625. Digital Trends has reported, via Gizchina, that the next iteration will be supported by a massive 3GB random access memory (RAM) and 64GB internal storage. In addition, the upcoming iteration is tipped to be equipped with a 12-megapixel rear camera while its selfie camera will be sporting a reliable 8MP front-facing snapper.
Furthermore, Xiaomi Mi 5C is slated to go with the firm's proprietary MIUI skin. On the other hand, the leaked information has not identified yet whether the smartphone might grace the latest Android Nougat. The device is also expected to come with 3,200mAh battery that will juice the unit more than enough.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi Mi 5C's pricing has not been confirmed yet as of this writing. But if its siblings are to be considered, Xiaomi Mi 5S is currently retailed at around €300 for its 3GB/64GB storage tier while the Xiaomi Mi 5 is tagged at approximately €250 for its 3GB/32GB variant. The device's price should go somewhere in that range.
As Xiaomi is scheduled to unveil Xiaomi Mi 6 in the imminent Mobile World Congress in Barcelona starting in March or April, Xiaomi Mi 5C is expected to be launched prior this grander event. Rumor has it that the smartphone may be revealed later this month.
