The "Bound" PS4 demo recently popped up on the PlayStation store and it even includes features from the full game.
Game developer Plastic Studio released their artistic platforming game "Bound" in August, last year. While the game certainly looks interesting, it's artistic appeal might not suit all gamers.
Fortunately, Sony decided to release a demo version of "Bound" that's already available on the PlayStation store. This way, players can see if the game's artistic flair and platforming elements is for them or not.
According to DualShockers, the "Bound" PS4 demo even includes a full Photo Mode feature. The source mentions that the game also runs in 4K at 60 frames per second on the PlayStation 4 Pro.
While "Bound" definitely looks visually appeasing, the game's critical reception is a mixed bag. Game publications criticized "Bound" for having a gameplay that they described as "boring."
However, the game's appeal lies on its artistic and rather philosophical nature. According to PlaystationLifestyle, "Bound" makes players think and contemplate even after completing the game. The complex nature of "Bound's" story and the game's intricate design tries to make up for its "shallow" gameplay.
"Bound's" story is deep and it's not easily understood without going through every nook and cranny within the game's world. The game also garnered praise from multiple critics for having graphics that are "stunning" and "gorgeous."
After all, the in-game world is beautifully rendered, filled with lush visuals and vibrant colors. Sony is known for releasing some artistic titles in the past with games like "Journey" or "Flower."
While "Bound" has the same artistic visuals as the mentioned games, it separates itself by having a plot that's both original and creative. Players can even make "Bound" more immersive by diving straight to the game's VR mode. The PlayStation VR version will also be included in the demo as well.
