OnePlus' phones managed to increase its popularity through their high-end specs with lower-end price, and with powerful devices available on the market now (and quiet expensive), this combination sounds pretty good. OnePlus 3 has certainly shakes the market with its most high-end Snapdragon chip with massive RAM size (6GB) for just $399.
With rumors of the next OnePlus phone could bring an amazing surprise up in the air, OnePlus smartphones could very well able to beat the other premium phones this year, according to iTech Post. The newest leak suggest that OnePlus would be skipping the OnePlus 4 name and going for OnePlus 5 instead, due to the Chinese influence which holds the belief that number four will bring in a negative vibe - just like the number 13 in the western culture.
Though the belief is easily understandable, it certainly won't be blocking the stage for OnePlus to outshine with its future killer flagship phone - as it is reported that the next OnePlus would feature an incredible 8GB of RAM combined with Snapdragon 835 processor. It could also be equipped with a much improved Dash Charge, reported Inquisitr.
It is also said that the new OnePlus device would be equipped with a QHD panel, with speculations stating that the device is in need of a display upgrade. When compared to other smartphones, OnePlus kind of lacking on its display department. For example, its current flagship OnePlus 3T - which offering 1080p display (enough for daily use), is far behind when compared to Samsung's Galaxy S7 or Apple's iPhone.
As for maintaining its cheaper price with high-end specs, OnePlus will indeed still be less expensive than its direct competition - although it is reported that there would be an increase over last year's OnePlus devices. With an expected price and specs like that, there's no doubt that the OnePlus 5 will retain its "flagship killer" nickname in the years to come.
