Trump To Sign Executive Order On Voters Fraud Investigation

By

U.S. President Donald Trump will sign an executive order to investigate allegations of voters' fraud while directing the Department of Justice to initiate an investigation.

In an interview with ABC News on Thursday, Jan. 26, the President said, "You have people that are registered who are dead, who are illegals, who are in two states. They vote twice. There are millions of votes."

In regard to the investigation, lawmakers insisted it should be conducted by independent and bi-partisan body as reported by Washington Times. Two Democrat lawmakers John Conyers Jr from Michigan and Cedric Richmond from Louisina sent a letter to Trump regarding the issue. Rep Conyers is a ranking Democrat while Richmond is the Chairman of Congressional Black Caucus.

However, Conyers believed that the allegation from President Trump is exaggerating. As the member of House Judiciary Committee, he said that the previous investigation has not found substantial evidence regarding the voter's fraud. He even fired back at the President and pointed the suppression against minority voters.

President Trump has mentioned about his awareness of millions of undocumented and illegal immigrants who voted for his opponents Clinton. Regardless the suspicion he won the elections with a big victory, winning 306 electoral votes which were recorded as the biggest win for Republicans since Ronald Reagan won the presidency in 1980's.

The executive order was scheduled to be signed Thursday night but due to his conflicting schedule, the signing was postponed. White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer in a brief statement said that the President attended an important meeting. Spicer said the signing of the executive order will be scheduled on Friday or Saturday.
