Trump Administration Freezes Social Media Accounts Of Environmental Protection Agency

By

It has not even been a week since the 45th President of the United States has been in the Oval Office and he is already making radical changes to laws and passing new bills. These rapid advancements, most of which defy what the public seeks and demands, are not being met very well.

Having mentioned earlier that climate change "is a bunch of bunk", the President has recently signed five new bills. The orders signed were made in regards to steel and pipelines but primarily the environment, too. Following the passing of these new orders, extreme measures were taken by the Trump administration.

At the Environmental Protection Agency, the Trump administration has staged a media blackout in addition to barring staff from awarding any new grants or contracts. The planned move was part of a larger communications shutdown inside of the executive branch.

These prohibitions were acted upon on Tuesday when the agency initiated moves to stall the implementation of at least 30 environmental rules. These rules were finalized in the last months of President Barack Obama's term which in itself was a potential step forward aiming to rid of the regulations.

Since President Trump's inauguration this past Friday, several email were sent to the EPA staff which were also reviewed by The Associated Press. The emails provided details regarding certain prohibitions that banned blog updates, press releases or posts to the agency's social media accounts.

Additionally, the new Trump administration has declared a "temporary suspension" order on all the new business activities at the department. This is inclusive of issuing work assignments or task orders to EPA contractors.

These orders will surely and expectedly display a significant effect and instant impact on the activities of the EPA all over the nation. Requests made by emails as well as phone calls on Monday and Tuesday were made to the EPA requesting comment. So far, the EPA has not responded.
