TNT Extends Fantasy-Adventure Series ‘The Librarians’ For Another Season With Original cast

Fans who just can't get enough of the TNT fantasy adventure series The Librarians may well be delighted with the news that the network has extended the series to another season. The extension comes in the heels of the Season 3 finale of the series.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the fourth season of The Librarians will air sometime in the latter part of the year. The show is the latest TNT original to be extended by the network after Major Vrimes and Good Behavior. The Librarians star Rebecca Romjin, Christian Kane, Lindy Booth, and John Harlan Kim.Emmy Award winner John Larroquette stars as their caretaker.

As reported by Variety, The Librarians generates around 1.8 million total viewers. The show is all about an ancient organization aiming to protect the world from the secret and magical reality that lurks all around. Launched in 2014, the series has reached 5.4 million viewers per episode in Season 3. It is watched by viewers who are six years below the average for the network's original series.

Figures from TV Series Finale revealed that The Librarians is one of the Top 20 original drama series among basic cable shows in 2015 and 2016. It was also adjudged Top 2 new series in 2014. It boasts of having nearly half a million fans on Facebook.

The Librarians first started out as a series of TV movies dating back to the year 2004. Ten years later, it was revived as a series. Executive Producer Noah Wyle reprises his role as Flynn Carsen, who is one of the longest running original cast member of the series. The Librarians is produced by Electric Entertainment. Dean Devlin, Marc Roskin, and Noah Wyle are the executive producers.

Meanwhile, the Season 3 finale was aired last January 22, 2017. Fans can still catch it on TNT On Demand as well as the network's digital and mobile platforms.
