Golden State Warriors started Sunday night game against the Magic slowly. They allowed the Magic to control the game before finally neutralizing the opponent in the final quarter.
The Warriors was trailing 28-22 at the first quarter and allowed the Magic to run 16-0 as the second quarter began. Afterward center Zaza Pachulia broke the deadlock by scoring a hook shot as reported by NBA.com. Afterward, the Dubs started to regain control, as Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and center Zaza Pachulia got back in their own game.
They finished the fourth quarter dominating the home team at Amway Center, Orlando. Golden State Warriors won the game by 118-98 and continue their winning streak to seven game. The Warriors are now 38-6 and ranked 1st in the Western Conference.
After the game Curry admitted the game is a mental challenge for the team.
“We were talking about it in the locker room before the game, Curry said as quoted by FOX Sports. “It is early, but it doesn’t matter what time the game is, we have go out and get a win.”
Curry led the scoring with 27 points, followed by 21 points from Thompson. Their performance sent a signal to their opponents that the Splash Brothers are back in business. Curry made 7 from 13 three-pointers, while Thompson made 7 out of 9 from behind the arc.
Durant and Pachulia followed with 15 points and 14 points respectively, while JaVale McGee made 13 points off-the-bench. In the paint, Durant and Pachulia contributed 10 rebounds each which showcase the balance between the Warriors front court and back court.
Golden State Warriors will continue their road trip visiting Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets before return to their home stadium on Saturday, Jan. 28. The game against the Heat will be their second match after the Warriors defeated Miami Heat 10-95 on Jan. 10. While this will be their first game against the Hornets which currently at the 6th place in Eastern Conference.
