‘Star Wars’ Latest News & Updates: ‘The Force Awakens' Deleted Scenes Reveal Chewbacca Ripping Off Unkar Plutt’s arm

By

Following the first release of the ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ deleted scenes, more clips were featured in the 3D Blu-Ray and DVD set that was made available in December. One of these involved Chewbacca taking out his aggression, but with good reason, on the cruel Unkar Plutt.

A shorter video of this scene was leaked in October, but the full version has finally been released online. The clip of the deleted scene can be viewed below.

Simon Pegg took on the role of Plutt on ‘The Force Awakens,’ introduced as a junk dealer who gave protagonist Rey (Daisy Ridley) a hard time in exchanging her goods while on their planet Jakku. In the movie’s final version, Pegg’s character is no longer featured after Rey, Finn (John Boyega) and droid BB-8 left the desert planet. However, as revealed in this deleted scene, Plutt has one last encounter with the crew.

Ridley and Boyega are set to make a comeback and reprise their roles on ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII,’ which will make a premiere in December. Director Rian Johnson already revealed that he has come up with the complete ‘Star Wars’ title for the sequel since he made the draft over two years ago.

"When will we learn it? All in good time,” Johnson teased.

The helmer also confirmed several fan speculations, such as the movie’s storyline continuing immediately after the concluding scene from ‘The Force Awakens.’ The familial bond between Rey and rumored father Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) will also be a crucial element in ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII.’ Even Adam Driver, who plays villainous Kylo Ren, admitted that his character has evolved for the upcoming movie.

The ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ premiere has been set on Dec. 15, 2017.
