Prince's Death Now a Criminal Investigation

By

Investigation is ongoing on the death of pop icon, Prince. However, the probe into his death made an unexpected turn after the search for public records regarding his death was concealed indicating that a criminal investigation could be pushed forward.

As reported by Diffuser, the police said previously that they do not believe suicide or foul play to be the cause of the popular singer's death. However, as the inquiry for details regarding Prince's death began, the Carver County Sherriff's Office cited an exception to the Minnesota public-record law that allow police to reveal little details connected to the "criminal probe" of the star's death.

The investigation regarding Prince's death is ongoing, and per International Business Times, investigators are focused on finding the source of the prescription drugs that was found at the scene where Prince died.

The probe is also focused on finding whether a doctor prescribed drugs that could be linked to his death or whether a physician was on board Prince's flight home from a concert in April. Moreover, a source close to the case divulged that the police are eyeing on the possibility that the overdose of opioids could be the cause of Prince's demise.

An investigation is also on going on whether the prescription pills found at Paisley Park were owned by Prince. Meanwhile, as the battle for answers continues regarding Prince's death, The Telegraph reported that an inheritance battle has also ensued between Prince's siblings.

Without surviving children, Prince's estate believed to be between $150 million to $800 million will be divided among his younger sister and five other siblings. Prince's younger sister, Tyka Nelson, met with Prince's half-brothers Alfred and Omar in the singer's Minnesota home.

But instead of an agreement on all participants, the meeting reportedly ended with one of Prince's brothers walking out of the room two hours after the meeting after not being present during the singer's memorial service.

The brothers allegedly understood from the meeting that Nelson believes that she is more entitled to managing the affairs pertaining to the estate rather than them. It is unknown who will inherit Prince's estate as the famous icon left no will before his death.
