It has been confirmed that at $34.5 Billion lawsuit is on its way against U.S. Corporations and other Americans supporting West Bank Settlements in a filing by a group of Palestinian activists represented by the Martin McMahon and Associates law firm on Monday.
The issue on West Bank Settlements is getting out of hand according to the Palestinian activists, as per the Middle East Monitor. The time to put everything into legal action is now. The activists composed of both Palestinians and American-Palestinians are fighting against the settlements and financial assistance towards U.S. citizens and tax-exempt entities.
This is in light of the numerous attacks which resulted to deaths and injuries across the Occupied Palestinian Territories, as per the publication. Furthermore, the lawsuit are filed against construction companies, security firms, real estate agencies and private banks, all of which are allegedly supporting Israeli settlements, the news agency adds.
"Plaintiff Doaa Abu-Amar lost fourteen family members when the Israeli army bombed a day-care centre they had taken shelter in during the 2009 Gaza invasion. Plaintiff Ahmed al-Zeer is permanently disabled today because he was severely beaten by settlers who attacked him on his own property outside the settlement of Ofra," a statement alleging the damage that the settlements have brought reads, as per the plaintiffs.
"Many of the plaintiffs have had loved ones murdered, children assaulted and murdered on their way home from school, businesses destroyed, land stolen, water wells and livestock poisoned, olive groves destroyed and suffered various physical injuries, including the loss of eyesight, legs amputated and various permanent physical injuries," the statement continued.
Meanwhile, the publication further revealed that the alleged entities involve in war crimes and money laundering as per the statement include Bank Leumi and Bank Hapoalim, Africa Israel Investments, Veolia, and Volvo, and the British security protection services firm, G4S.
While this has been placed in action, Albawaba reports that the U.S. Palestinian authorities are appealing at the Second Circuit U.S. Federal Appeals Court last Tuesday against a $655.5 million civil wrongful death judgment stemming from the recent Second Intafada militant attacks.
The publication reports that the judgement challenged was of a Manhattan jury in the U.S. federal district court back in February 2015. Furthermore, the plaintiffs including Nitsana Darshan - Leitner of Shurat Hadin - Israel Law Center and Kent Yalowitz of Arnold & Porter, PA employees, including policemen and commanders, are claiming that there was no jurisdictional basis for the judgement since the U.S. cannot file against Palestinians, the PA and the PLO, the news agency adds.
