‘Suicide Squad’: Official theme song dropped? Jai Courtney addresses reshoot rumors for additional scenes

'Suicide Squad' may have already dropped its official theme song from EDM artist Skrillex. Meanwhile, actor Jai Courtney addressed rumors of reshoots saying that they were for additional action sequences and not for additional humorous scenes.

According to Screen Crush, the upcoming action-fantasy film may have dropped its official theme song. The track was created by EDM bigwig Sonny "Skrillex" Moore with vocals from hip-hop artist Rick Ross. The vocals allegedly featured references to 'Suicide Squad' a number of times specifically of Joker's purple Lamborghini and Gotham City. This has yet to be confirmed however.

Skrillex dropped the mysterious track during a gig at Atlantic City's Wav Nightclub and was captured via video. It was noted that Skrillex has contributed to various feature-films in the past - most notably "Bug Hunt" from 'Wreck-It Ralfh' - and it would not come as a surprise if the track was indeed intended as a theme song for 'Suicide Squad'.

Meanwhile, an article on i09.com previously suggested that director David Ayer intended to do the reshoots to add more light-hearted humor to the upcoming superhero film. It was speculated that the jokes cracked in the film may have already been delivered in the film's official trailer. However, it is not the case.

According to Cinema Blend, Jai Courtney denied that the reshoots for the purpose of adding more funny scenes. He said, "I wouldn't say we're going back to make it funnier. There's some additional action stuff that we've been doing, which is really dope."

Courtney plays Captain Boomerang, an assassin best known for wielding altered boomerangs as part of his weapon arsenal. He is one of the Flash's famous enemies and was eventually forced to serve in Task Force X a.k.a. the Suicide Squad together with supervillains Harley Quinn, Deadshot, El Diablo and Killer Croc.

'Suicide Squad' is an upcoming action film written and directed by David Ayer. It is intended as part of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). It is scheduled to be released on August 5, 2016.
