'Frozen 2' lead actress Kristen Bell expressed her pride over being part of the Disney series. She talked about how happy she was that it inspired many young fans. She also reunited with co-star Idina Menzel to sing songs from the musical film for a charity event.
During an interview with Coming Soon, Bell expressed her happiness with movie projects that inspire. The actress zeroed in on the impact left by 'Frozen' specifically on young girls.
She said, "I'm flattered and happy that people have found enjoyment in the projects that I have done. I'm particularly proud that so many young girls loved "Frozen" and loved the message behind that movie about loving someone's flaws and enjoying how you're different."
The 35-year old actress and singer is best known for her roles on numerous full-feature films and television series including 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall', 'You Again', 'Couples Retreat', 'When In Rome' and 'Veronica Mars'. She was also the mysterious voice-over in 'Gossip Girl' although her role was uncredited. She is set to star in the upcoming films 'Zootopia', 'The Boss' and 'Bad Moms'.
Bell plays the lead protagonist Princess Anna in the 'Frozen' series. She was introduced in the original film as a free-spirited, fearless yet naïve teenager who sought to reconnect with her reclusive yet powerful sister Queen Elsa, played by theater and film actress Idina Menzel. Anna's character was based loosely on Gerda in Han Christian Andersen's fairytale 'The Snow Queen'.
Although Anna didn't have powers in the first film unlike her sister, it was speculated that she main gain some in the sequel. According to Australia News Network, Anna may have the ability to create fire and counteract Elsa's powers of ice and snow. It was even rumored that she may become the film's new villain although this remains baseless as of the present.
Meanwhile, Bell and Menzel reunited at a recent event in support of 'A Broader Way Foundation', founded by Menzel and her ex-husband Taye Diggs. According to Music Times, the co-stars went on stage and performed an impromptu duet of songs from the 'Frozen' soundtrack.
Acclaimed songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez will be returning to write new songs for the sequel. The husband-and-wife team won an Academy Award for Best Original song for "Let It Go" performed by Menzel.
'Frozen 2' is an upcoming animated-musical film by Disney intended as the sequel to their 2013 blockbuster hit of the same name. It is directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee and will feature the return of lead actresses Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel.
