After Verizon Wireless will finish pushing out the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on its LG V10 units, mobile carriers AT&T and T-Mobile are slated to continue the update with their versions of the device. The upgrade is expected to continue this month.
LG V10 units in the United States are expected to get the official Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update this month. Units should include those under mobile partners like T-Mobile and AT&T. Verizon is the first carrier to release the over-the-air (OTA) upgrade on the device.
Although there has been no release date revealed as of this time, these carriers are now getting ready for the upgrade. In fact, T-Mobile has outlined on its track list that its LG V10 units are now in the testing period, a step away from the official release of Marshmallow. It has moved on from the manufacturer development stage from last month.
AT&T did not comment yet as to when the update will come to the device. Just like T-Mobile, the carrier must also be on the verge of preparing for the upgrade which is expected to come by this quarter.
T-Mobile already released Marshmallow on several of its devices including LG G4 and G Stylo. On the other hand, AT&T was able to release Marshmallow as well to a handful of devices including G4.
With Verizon Wireless, LG V10 received Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow's latest software version, VS99022A. It brings major tweaks on the overall system performance, including improved visibility of notification panel icons, more quick settings toggles for Private Mode in the status bar, minor tweaks on how the phone vibrates when locked with a fingerprint, like how the phone will only vibrate when the fingerprint is not recognized.
Meanwhile, Marshmallow will also bring Doze, redesigned app drawer, Google Now on Tap, simpler volume controls, fingerprint and USB Type-C support, runtime permissions, direct share, controlling notifications, better Google settings, and so many others.
