Verizon Wireless has rolled out the latest Android security updates on LG G4 and G3 phones following their upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow earlier this month. The update particularly comes with new software versions VS98625A and VS98547A, respectively.
The LG G4 and G3 units of Verizon Wireless have just received the Android security update for March 2016 bringing device optimizations and stability enhancements. In its official support page for software updates, Verizon outlined that both G4 and G3 will receive faster display response from a sleep state along with the security patches.
The security update comes via over-the-air update. If prompted for the update, just follow onscreen instructions. To manually check for the update, head over to Settings > About phone > Software update > Check for updates. Bear in mind that the estimated software download time is 6 to 10 minutes while the estimated software update time is also 6 to 10 minutes.
Once the download is completed, advisory will pop up that the new version of software is set to be installed. Just click "Install now".
For automatic download, Verizon shall notify device owners over the air. Just tap "Download now" and follow on-screen instructions. The update can also be conducted using network connection. Make sure though that the device is connected to a Wi-Fi or a strong Verizon network.
To update while roaming, the device should be connected to a Wi-Fi and then follow on-screen instructions.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow brings known features like Now on Tap. This feature helps users to be on the right track with suggestions already given like maps, locations, nearby restaurants, reviews, etc.
Both G4 and G3 have just been updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow by Verizon. The carrier was first in providing G3 phones with the update.
It has rolled out the latest software update as well to devices Galaxy Note 5, HTC One M8, One M9, LG V10, Moto X Pure Edition (2015), and Google Nexuses.
