A worker from Delta Airlines in Palm Beach International Airport was arrested after authorities found him carrying cash with over $282,000 in a backpack. The airport employee bypass the security checkpoints, led him to be stopped by the airport securities, authorities said on Saturday.

Jean Yves Selius, an airline ramp agent, was halted for avoiding the security checkpoints and for using his employees ID to pass through a secured area of the said airport, ABC News reported. The 26 year old airport employee wore civilian clothes when an airport operation officer came to asked him to open his backpack and show the things inside.

Selius eventually voluntarily showed to the officer, a "large packets of cash wrapped in clear, vacuum sealed bundles," the affidavit with a criminal complaint stated. A drug-sniffing dog inspected the backpack and indicated that it had been in contact with drugs, a special agent with U.S. Department of Homeland Security said.

According to Q13 Fox, Selius told the investigators that for up to $1,000, his job is to give the said backpack to a person he revealed he don't actually know, in a bathroom inside the airport's sterile area. He allegedly doing the job for about a year, earning nearly $4,000.

The complaint stated that he only knew the men who were paying him by the names, "Ricky" and "John". He also admitted that he was aware that the large sum of cash inside the backpack did not "come from a good cause."

Selius is charge of "illegal money transmitting," the CNN News reported. He is being held in custody and could appear in court for a hearing later this week. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment, the court document stated.

A Delta spokesperson said that Selius' employment with the airline has been terminated."DGS will continue to fully cooperate with law enforcement authorities in this matter," the company said in statement.
