A Salt Lake City-based driver with the Lyft ride sharing service was fired after a video of his rant was posted online. The video showed the driver engaged in a profanity-laced political rage with two passengers en route to a Bernie Sanders for President Party earlier this week.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune on Friday, Lyft spokeswoman Alexandra LaManna confirmed that the driver, who the company did not identify, has been fired on service. LaManna also said that the company does not tolerate such discrimination and racism.

ABC NEWS reported that Samuel Grenny used Lyft on Wednesday to attend a rally for Democratic Presidential contender Bernie Sanders. He also claimed that the Wednesday dispute ended when he and his girlfriend, Sara Day, caught the exchange on video.

They were abruptly instructed by a driver called "Dave" to get out of the white Nissan Juke. Grenny revealed that as the driver found out that the couple was Sander's supporters, the driver named "Dave", began ranting about Donald Trump's candidacy.

Grenny, later on, posted the video of the driver talking about Trump's candidacy on his Facebook page. Both he and the driver, called "Dave", are even heard cursing at each other before the driver made a derogatory comment about Muslims.

When Grenny countered with the criticism of Trump's calls for more enquiry of Muslim's in the United States and a moratorium of further Islamic immigration, the driver furiously stated, "Muslims are terrorists and pieces of [excrement]." He also claimed that the driver also "called Hispanics worthless and rapists."

He even threatened Grenny physically before stopping the car. After the incident, Grenny alerted Lyft. By Thursday, the San Francisco-based company sent him an apology and a refund.

Meanwhile, Grenny claimed that he's very pleased with Lyft's response regarding the confrontation. Furthermore, he doesn't blame the company of the driver's attitude towards them.
