A United Airlines pilot has been arrested on Wednesday. He has been alleged of running half a dozen of brothels in Houston apartment complexes and office buildings.
According to KHOU, 51-year old United Airlines pilot Bruce Wayne Wallis is accused of operating approximately half a dozen houses of prostitution. He has been using online advertisements to promote his illegal businesses. He has also been charging at least 20 women $400 a week to sell sex under his management.
The United Airlines pilot was charged with aggravated promotion of prostitution. He was also accused of engaging into criminal activities.
Wallis was summoned in court on Thursday and is out on $15,000 bond, as reported byABC News. His alleged accomplice, 37-year old Trace Tanner was also charged with felony aggravated by the promotion of the prostitution and is out on $50,000 bond.
"It's the largest operation that I've ever worked on," Assistant Harris County District Attorney Lester Blizzard said in an interview. The airline company also expressed how dismayed it is on Wallis' illicit acts, saying that the pilot had been taken off flying duties.
Chron claimed that the court records even revealed that investigators believe that women were advertised online and paid Wallis $400 a week. He was also accused of recruiting five women at the time and they even alleged that he had sex with them before trading them as prostitutes. A few of those women are said to be Russian.
Eighteen other women were also charged with prostitution following the eight-month probe of the case. Wallis is also indicted of using Easter Aero, which was his flight school and charter service in Porter, North of Houston, as an alibi to make sure that those women who worked for him has a valid employment records and financial statements.
Prosecutor Lester Blizzard, moreover, stated that 26 search warrants were served this week in an outbreak of activity resulting to Wallis' arrest on Wednesday. But no clients were included during the arrest. Blizzard also took time to credit investigators with the Texas Department Public Safety and the human trafficking division of the Houston Police Department for cracking the case.
Meanwhile, if Wallis will be convicted, he will face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. His accomplice will also face up to 10 years in prison if found guilty of the charges.
