Kol, played by guest star Nathaniel Buzolic, has returned to his resurrected body with the help of Davina (Danielle Campbell). Kol's major come back in "The Originals" Season 3 is going to begin some conflicts with his siblings. The written prophecy, which hinted that Elijah and Klaus will be denounced by their friend or foe, leads to Kol's return. He also serves as a potential newest addition to Mikaelson's list of friends and foes, Design n Trend has cited.
As for the official plot synopsis of episode 16, Spoilers Guide notes, "Dangerous foes descend upon New Orleans in an attempt to take down Klaus (Joseph Morgan); Elijah (Daniel Gillies) urges his siblings to lay low at the compound while Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood), and Josh (Steven Krueger) chase down a lead involving a mysterious vampire named Sofya (Taylor Cole).
Tensions inside the compound build as Kol is forced to face his brother Finn (Casper Zafer), the person responsible for his death while Klaus and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) seek shelter and stumble upon an unsettling threat against them.'
