Thor: Ragnarok is one of phase three films currently in the works under Marvel. A new assistant director has recently joined the project while several speculations have surrounded the film on the MCU characters that might potentially make an appearance.

Vincent Lascoumes was recently hired as the assistant director for the project to work along with "What We Do In The Shadows" director Taika Waititi. According to Vine Report, Lascoumes previously worked in the YA movie version of the hit book series "Divergent".

Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston are expected to return to reprise their roles as Thor and Loki while Mark Ruffalo was also confirmed to join the cast as Bruce Banner or Hulk. Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury is also rumored to appear although the relevance of his character in the entirety of events is still unknown.

As reported by KpopStars, Cate Blachett is speculated to join the project as the villain Amora the Enchantress although there are also murmurings suggesting that she could play the role of Hela or Valkyrie which will make her the first female villain in the franchise.

However, actress Jaimie Alexander stated that her character's return is not yet confirmed. Per Crossmap, Alexander said that the script for the film is being altered and whether her filming schedule for the film will go with her short vacation from her series Blindspot is also still unconfirmed.

"I know that they're changing things with the script and that sort of thing, so I am literally in limbo. I know probably less than you do about it. I would love to do it, but wheether or not it's going to work on my short hiatus from Blindspot I'm not sure. There could be a lot of factors when it comes to that decision.", Alexander said. Moreover, Alexander stated that she loved playing the role of Lady Sif and would love to portray the character again when everything is settled.

Thor: Ragnarok will be directed by Taika Waititi from screenplay by Stephany Folson, Craig Lee, and Christopher Yost. It is set to hit theaters on November 03, 2017.
