'The Flash' Season 2 returns March 22 with 'Trajectory' Episode; Barry's ex Patty returns to help him kill Zoom in finale?

Rumors have surfaced that Shantel VanSanten returns to ressurect her role as Barry Allen's ex-girlfriend, Patty Spivot in "The Flash" Season 2 while Rick Cosnett officially reappears in the upcoming episode 17. Also, The CW has released the official plot description of episode 16 'Trajectory'.

Rumor has it that Shantel VanSanten, one of the lead actresses will return in "The Flash" Season 2. According to Fashion n Style, the 30-year-old American actress and model might resurrect her role as Patty Spivot. Spivot is a former police detective of the Central City Police Department who also happens to be Barry Allen aka The Flash's (Grant Gustin) former girlfriend. VanSanten's character is said to resurface on the scene to help Barry kill Zoom (Teddy Sears) in the finale episode.

In addition, cast member Rick Cosnett, who portrays the role of Edward "Eddie" Thawne, officially signs in to return this sophomore season of "The Flash". Eddie Thawne is also a former police detective of the Central City Police Department and,happens to be a good friend of the titular hero. Cosnett's character will reappear in episode 17 as Barry goes on a quest to learn how to run faster so he returns to Earth 2 to defeat Zoom, Movie News Guide has cited.

As for the official plot synopsis of episode 16, Spoilers Guide notes, "There is a new speedster in Central City; Will The Flash be able to keep up? Deciding to blow off some steam, Barry Allen and the team head out for a night on the town only to encounter an unexpected speedster who is up to no good. Iris West Allen (Candice Patton) is challenged by an assignment from her new boss (guest star Tone Bell), and is surprised when friction turns into flirtation."

"The Flash" Season 2 Episode 16 is entitled as "Trajectory". The forthcoming episode is slated to premiere on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. exclusively on The CW.

"The Flash" is an American TV series developed by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Geoff Johns.The storyline is based on the DC Comics character Barry Allen or Flash.
