HTC Desire Eye phones is now live updating to official Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow as a user tipped on famous software developer and leakster @LlabTooFeR. Desire Eye is currently updating models in the European and Asian region.

HTC Desire Eye has just begun updating to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow via official release in Europe. Live updates are currently happening in Italy and Taiwan which can be expected to hit units in the United States, India and the United Kingdom in the following days.

Late of February 2016, @LlabTooFeR already teased on Twitter that Android 6.0.1 is coming to Desire Eye phones with Europe as the vantage point. The device was first confirmed for the upgrade in January 2016.

According to HTC Italy's official blog site (via Google Translate), the update will go on for a couple of days until all models in Italy will receive it. It will then proceed to more countries. Although there had been no mention made as to when it is coming out in the U.S., reports are firm that it is happening this month.

Weighing 1.6 GB, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on HTC comes with Sense 7.0 user interface (UI) which will bring a few tweaks to user customization, a wide variety of themes to choose from, flatter and simpler look and notification-based card. Also, the performance has one of the biggest changes brought by Sense 7.0 to the phone's chipset.

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will bring in several bug fixes for MMS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and camera, and a new and updated collection of emojis. The Marshmallow launcher, meanwhile, will come in with a whole lot of improvements in apps and software configurations, plus new and fresh features straight from Google dev. These include the battery saver named 'Doze', smarter Google Now with more accurate suggestions and recommendations, apps permissions, direct share, additional mobile payment systems like Google Pay, Visa, Discovery and Master Card, and supports for Android Pay and fingerprint scanner, among many others.
