Houston Texans receiver, Jaelen Strong arrested on late night Sunday by the police authorities for marijuana possession. The National Football League professional player was booked into jail and was later freed from prison.

Jaelen Strong was riding with Damarious Randall, Green Bay Packers cornerback, who was driving a black Maserati vehicle, according to the Scottsdale police in Arizona. ESPN reported they were pulled over for not having license plate, Kevin Watts, a spokesman for the Scottsdale Police Department. Authorities reported that the two and the other passenger of the car, Brayon Colley inside the car reeks of marijuana.

Strong admitted that he was using marijuana without a secured medical card, Yahoo News reported. He also surrendered a box of three marijuana cigarettes to the authorities. He was arrested and was later released, while Randall and Colley were released at the scene and were not charged. Prosecutors will decide if they will pursue the charges against him.

The team's general manager and executive vice president of football operations, Rick Smith issued a statement on Monday. He said that the Texans were aware of the incident involving Strong. "We are disappointed in the choices Jaelen made to put himself in this situation. We will have no further comment at this time," Smith said in a statement.

Similar arrested cases were also reported with Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount in August 2014. The two rode in a car when authorities stopped them and smelled marijuana odor inside their car, CBSS Ports reported. Blount was release at the scene while Bell was arrested and suspended him from three games.

Strong was selected by Texans in the third round of the 2015 draft. Houston traded up to take him and slowly worked him into a role on the offense. He played in 10 games and made 14 catches on 24 targets, including three receiving touchdowns.
