Many people who have seen the nude video thought it as a "publicity stunt". "That ripped me apart," Andrews said. ESPN also told her to do an interview regarding the circulating nude video of hers. However, she decided to do an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
She told the jurors aside from dealing her emotional distressed, people also continued to harass her. Andrews filed a $ 75 million lawsuit against Michael David Barrett, the owner and the operator of the hotel, the Guardian reported. Barrett testified that he recorded the video in order to make money. He also attempted to sell it to TMZ, and posted it online without compensation after TMZ declined to take the video.
Barrett also said he chose Andrews because she was trending on Yahoo, which is how he figured out she was a popular one. He also revealed that he rented hotel rooms next to Andres three times and even secretly filmed nude videos of her while she was in Nashville and Columbus, Ohio, and posted it online.
Dr. Bernard Jansen, a computer expert also testified in court that the said video may have been viewed 17 million times since it was released in public on July 2009, Huffington Post reported. "It works out to be, every minute, about 1.5 people are watching that video," Jansen testified on Thursday.
The trial continues Tuesday, and is expected to run through most of the rest of the week. At the time of the stalking, Andrews was working for ESPN and staying in the Nashville hotel to help cover a college football game for the network. She is currently working in Fox Sports and a TV show host on Dancing With the Stars.
