Latest update of NBC's upcoming comedy series 'Powerless' indicates that Vanessa Hudgen's character Emily Locke has to be strong being a normal human (powerless) living with superheroes. The show's pilot synopsis is also teased online. Meanwhile, Danny Pudi and Alan Tudyk are joining Hudgens and Christina Kirk on the upcoming tv show.
The upcoming comedy series of NBC will soon air its pilot episode with Vanessa Hudgen as the lead. But the 'Powerless' pilot synopsis has been shared online by SpoilerTV.
'Powerless' Synopsis:
"Emily Locke works at the worst insurance companies in America, in the universe of DC Comics where superheroes do exist and cause a lot of collateral damages. How is it like working for a normal, powerless person in a world of superheroes and villains? It's hard, really hard. You have to be strong, really strong. And that's the beauty of it. Isn't it?"
According to SpoilerTV, 'Powerless' is not a tv series made specifically for DC Comic die-hard fans. This tv show is for everyone who love to see a workplace comedy. In fact, NBC has made it clear in the first place, when it was announced, that the show is an indeed comedy series and does not have much action scenes.
Meanwhile, 2 actors are added to join with Hudgens and Christina Kirk. According to Polygon, 'Community' alum Danny Pudi and 'Firefly' actor Alan Tudyk are set to give more laughs in the show.
Pudi's character Teddy is a trusted confidante of Hudgen's Emily. Teddy is fond of doing office pranks to make his day go by a little faster. Tudyk, on the other hand, will play a newly promoted boss Del. He is the son of the company's owner. As described, he is narcissistic, insensitive, power-hungry man. His superhero assistant is played by Kirk who is unluckily under his cruelty.
According to AVClub, it is a good move for NBC to add Pudi and Tudyk to 'Powerless' since they have the "nerdy cachet." Hudgens and Kirk are said to have no enough 'nerdy cachet' to make viewers laugh out loud.
