The epic space shooter Star Wars Battlefront is set to receive a March update as the game's expansion pack called Outer Rim is further teased by EA ahead of its upcoming release this month.
The developer has recently confirmed that a free update of Star Wars Battlefront will be released next month but no details on the content was revealed, notes UK Daily Express. However, the revelation could be connected with the new Outer Rim expansion pack that will also be out in the same month.
An official statement from EA explains about the DLC and free update:
"Expect more in March including free updates and the launch of our first digital expansion pack to give you more of the content you love - more maps, weapons, and heroes, and an all-new mode."
"The Star Wars Battlefront Outer Rim expansion pack will allow you to fight among the factories of Sullust and battle within Jabba the Hutt's palace on Tatooine."
In a separate report from the same newswire, EA has also spilled some exciting tidbits on the new Heroes and Villains that fans can look forward to arrive on Star Wars Battlefront on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Apparently, EA showed off an image of the Rebel pilot Nien Nunb and Bounty Hunter Greedo pitting against each other on Luke Skywalker's home planet.
These two make a great addition for the Outer Rim DLC which is also anticipated to feature maps based on the factories of Sullust and Jabba's iconic Palace on Tatooine. It is not revealed as of yet, though, as to what exactly will be part of the new paid content slated to launch March 2016. It is noted, however, that the soon-to-be released expansion will precede three more DLC releases between this year and early 2017.
Star Wars Battlefront also recently received a new map called Twilight on Hoth alongside a new mission where fans will have to endure and remain alive in the frozen planet's Ice Caves on Survival. The new map has been added as playable on Walker Assault, Supremacy, Turning Point, Blast, Fighter Squadron, Drop Zone, and Heroes vs. Villains.
