Dwaine Caraway staff files lawsuit against John Wiley Price after choking him during a radio program encounter between candidates

A Dwaine Caraway staffer, George Nash, said that a lawsuit will be filed against John Wiley Price after he was allegedly choked by the latter during a heated encounter in a radio show. The plaintiff also commented about the police response to his case after no charges were pressed against Price.

Nash has hired attorney Kristin Regel to pursue a lawsuit against Price for choking him while the Caraway employee tried to stop him from getting near his rival in a show in the gospel radio station. According to The Dallas Morning News, CBS 11 reporter Steve Pickett released a video in Twitter that seem to coincide with Nash's claims.

In the video, Micah Phillips was seen trying to pull Nash away from Price as the latter's hand appeared to be near Nash's neck. Nash also claims obtaining marks on his neck after the incident. Price apologized to the community a day after.

In another report by the trade, Nash commented that police did an investigation on the matter, however, Price was not arrested. "The irony of it is, if a citizen hits an elected official the citizen will be dealt with swiftly," Nash said. "If it would have been vice versa, I definitely wouldn't have made it out of that building because I would have been arrested", he added.

Furthermore, as reported by WFAA, Nash stated that he still feel tension on his neck, which was supported by his lawyer, Kristen Regel who stated that he may seek medical attention. "Damages are on-going and we're developing the factual basis of damages as we move forward", Regel stated.

Regel added that they will submit a 4-page civil lawsuit along with her partner Ken Wincorn in the state district court. Moreover, Dwaine Caraway also clarified that the lawsuit had nothing to do with him, and is something that Nash is pushing through on his own accord.
