In the teaser trailer for 'The Fosters' season 3 episode 16 released by Freeform, Callie clears to Stef and Lena after meal that she and AJ are dating. But since the two of them are not fostering AJ, Callie and AJ relationship does not have to face legal issue. Lena also mentioned that both should still follow the rules, especially now that Mike (who will foster AJ) is going to be present in the house a lot.
But Brandon accidentally overhears the discussion between them when he returns to kitchen and gets his poster, which makes the scene awkward and probably heartbreaking for Brallie fans. Meanwhile, Brandon's senior thesis is put on hold. According to CarterMatt, His play 'Romeo and Juliet' is in jeopardy when students are getting worried with the musical's story that could promote suicide. While it means too much for Brandon, others are not getting it.

The said trailer also sparked different opinions and speculations from fans and followers of the show. Many speculated that the person who is seen putting the pills could be Jack. Aside from the hand that looks like belong to a man, Jack may kill himself because he can't take anymore of the system.
Others also speculated that the one who is going to overdose is may be between Rita's daughter Chloe who reaches out to Callie (and as based on the trailer's description) or Jude which makes Callie upset. Some also thought that it could be Brandon, who still hurt for his breakup with Callie and his jeopardized play. But the answer is yet to be known as the episode airs soon.
