'Jurassic World 2' Update: No more theme park? Director hints new location; Bryce Dallas Howard on Claire's role in upcoming sequel

After its blockbuster success last year, Jurassic World is getting a sequel which is slated for release on 2018. Lead stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are expected to reprise their roles for the second movie. However, Colin Trevorrow will no longer be the director of the upcoming film.

Movie Pilot reports that even though Trevorrow won't be directing the sequel, he would still take part in writing the script of the movie; and it looks like he has big plans for Jurassic World 2. The site claims that the sequel won't be in the usual theme park setting. Trevorrow reportedly considers the possibilities of setting the sequel in another location.

"This isn't always going to be limited to theme parks, and there are applications for this science that reach far beyond entertainment," the filmmaker said. "And when you look back at nuclear power, and how that started, the first instinct was to weaponize it, and later on we found it could be used for energy. What if there are 15 different entities around the world who can make a dinosaur?"

Aside from that, it appears that the role of Howard (Claire) in Jurassic World will be the main focus of the next installment. According to Movie News Guide, her role will be the most important in the movie and how her life goes will mainly affect the story of the Jurassic World 2. Citing Trevorrow, the site added that Claire and Owen (Pratt) would need to accept things and overcome the problems that rooted from their decisions in the upcoming sequel.

Yibada shared that Howard is already excited for what is to come in the movie. She is eager to know more of her character, as it will be the main lead for the sequel. Apparently, the actress only get to gather details about Claire whenever she comes close to the Jurassic World 2 team.

Jurassic World is a far-fetched installment of the movie series Jurassic Park. It revolves around two young kids who went to the high-end, dinosaur-themed park to visit their aunt. However, their visit did not go smoothly as expected after one of the dinosaurs in the theme park escaped, causing trouble in the whole area. Its yet to be titled sequel, Jurassic World 2, will premiere on June 22, 2018.
